“I started playing in church around 1987 and was always baffled about how they were able to get tiny musicians into the Technics keyboards being played for services. This is what inspired me to be a Computer Engineer years later. Upon coming to USA, I went to a music store and heard a KETRON MS60 in 1994 and purchased that as my first keyboard. Digging into it (while a student at Penn State) I was able to make configurations and create sounds and rhythms for the US market. Arrangers predominantly have European based styles since that is where the majority of Arranger users reside. I later joined the SOLTON/KETRON club in the USA and was exposed to other users worldwide and consequently started sharing my features, sounds, and styles with them. This got the attention of the Europeans and a year later, I started collaborating with KETRON Italy. Having more access to the research and development team, I was able to assist with perfecting their products and became the US Product Specialist while assisting the then US distributors, BELL DOUVOX, who were instrumental in getting me to collaborate with KETRON Italy. The first instrument I had full influence on was the SD1 which was very advanced for it’s time. Working with KETRON ITALY, I realized there was an opportunity to capture the US market by 1. Producing sounds and styles Americans are acquainted with such as Latin, Caribbean, Afro Beats, RnB/Soul, Funk, etc. 2. Introducing features into high end music workstations common among American musicians Seeing the progress I had made, and once the US distribution license expired, KETRON quickly asked me to become their distributor in the US! In 2015, we took over the distribution network for KETRON in the USA. This meant I had to wear 2 hats: one, as an Engineer assisting product development with KETRON, and another as a distributor building a solid dealer network of people not only willing to sell KETRON products, but also willing to spend time learning them and educating prospective customers. Our dedication to KETRON customers includes product support, even to musicians calling in during weekend gigs, and producing tutorial videos. This is how AJAMSONIC has earned international recognition. Today, our Testimonials and Better Business Bureau reviews illustrate how we have been able to provide KETRON Support worldwide from the US. What distinguishes us from other distributors is our in-depth product knowledge and reliability in helping customers after every sale for as long as they own our instruments. In recent years I have also created my own brand, AJAMSONIC, which now gives KETRON users the opportunity to perfect their instruments with the most modern articulated sounds and truly authentic styles. Looking forward, we will endeavor to implement our proprietary technology into other musical instrument brands. This could bring about new excitement and inspiration for musicians regardless of the product they use.”
My Story
His name is Ajua Alemanji (pronounced Ah’-ju-wa, Ah-la-mon’-gee.) He’s a native of the formal British territory of Southern Cameroon, in central Africa, and a Computer Science Engineer from Penn State University. “AJ” has been generating buzz for a long time on the east coast of America, in Europe, and anywhere there is a KETRON keyboard or sound module being played. Why? Because his brilliant, authentic, and sophisticated backing styles and sounds are, in the words of Tina Turner’s song: “simply the best, better than all the rest.” Here’s the story behind the talented creator of the AJAMSONIC Super Gold Styles and Sounds that are setting KETRON’s musical instruments on fire.
