EVENT breaks new ground, especially in the area of style accompaniment. Here the focus is
increasingly on audio formats with recordings of real musicians.
Audio tracks are used for the guitars, basses, drums, but also for other instruments in the accompaniment tracks. Over
400 stylesare available, including Real Styles, Live Styles or MIDI Styles. The Real Styles are notable for having some of
their backing tracks in full audio format. No sounds are played here via MIDI, but “real” musicians who were recorded in
the studio and integrated into the EVENT as audio tracks play. This technology, which was basically already introduced with
the AUDYA at the time, was significantly expanded and refined for EVENT.
The bass section of the EVENT offers a library of 256 real bass lines that were recorded in the studio by real bass players on
different root notes and are intended to give the feeling of being accompanied by a real bass player. The Real Bass should
adapt naturally to the chord changes as if it were a normal MIDI bass, and also master the Bass To Lowest mode. A parametric
equalizer and a lock bass mode for locking the current bass figure (ostinato playing) are available for the Real Bass. There is also a lot of audio material for the drums: the rhythm section offers over 580 real drums, i.e. drum patterns recorded
live, each with an intro, ending, 4 variations, fill and break. These studio recordings were created with professional drummers
over eight bars or more and, according to the manufacturer, were used without any cuts or processing in order to achieve
particularly realistic sounding results. There is an equalizer function for the Real Drum drum tracks for sound post-processing,
as well as a drum lock mode that makes it possible to loop the rhythmic pattern played. In addition to the Real Drums, there are 94 new stereo drum sets for the MIDI styles, incl. drum mixer and remap function to
remap the individual percussion sounds and save them on up to 32 user drum positions. The Groove mode contains over 700 percussive sequences that run as loops on three independent groove parts and can, for
example, add figures that come from the house, hip-hop and latin genres. But also many Afro-Cuban or Brazilian Latin
percussions with conga, shaker, maracas, cowbell, cajon, tambourine etc. are available. The lower section of the EVENT has been significantly expanded: There are now three independent parts and mono/poly modes.
There is also an extended style edit area in which styles can be edited or created from scratch. The Audio Style Modeling System offers the option of freely selecting or exchanging the audio tracks from Real Drum, Real Bass,
Real Chord as well as the orchestral MIDI tracks.
The EVENT's sound library offers a lot of new material on 10 banks. These include a new grand piano, a range of multilayer
electric pianos, a variety of new string and horn sounds, new acoustic and electric guitars, and a completely renewed selection
of pad, synth, bass and ethnic voices. EVENT features 2 voice sections, each capable of processing up to 4 voices simultaneously
with 2 separate EFX inserts. The real solo sounds such as trumpet, violin, saxophone, flute, oboe, etc. are particularly complex
and rich in detail, and are intended to offer refined sound control via aftertouch, round robin, articulation and a natural fading
out of the samples. The EVENT's internal voice editing system allows extensive editing of the sounds. A user sample memory of 2.5 GB is also
available, in which new factory sound banks (SBK) or new user-defined sounds from up to 4 stereo layers can be stored. Sound
modulation is also extensively possible while playing thanks to an EFX effect control function directly on the control panel. If you want to sing along with your music, the EVENT now has two microphone inputs with relative gain controls and new
dedicated effects, as well as an individual audio output for the Micro 1. The Voicetron Harmonizer section has been expanded
with new effectsand many parametric controls for detailed sound adjustment . The two integrated multimedia players of the EVENT master the formats MIDI, MP3, WAV, TXT, PDF, MP4 and many more. They
are equipped with all the classic karaoke features such as showing the lyrics on an external display, lead mute, crossfade, search
and fade out. The Stem feature plays up to five audio tracks simultaneously and in sync. Each audio track has individual mute and volume
controls, plus it's possible to change its pitch and tempo without changing the pitch of the rhythm. It is also possible to exclude
one or more tracks from playback, e.g. piano or bass, to play them live, for example. EVENT offers all important connection possibilities: Two separate pairs of outputs in addition to the main outputs offer seamless
routing flexibility for controlling different sound sources independently. The high-impedance and balanced inputs allow you to
connect any sound source to the keyboard, such as a microphone, a guitar, a smartphone or a tablet. The HDMI socket allows you to connect an external touchscreen, which can be used to control the keyboard and display lyrics
at the same time. Wireless connections are also available, including Wi-Fi for the Ketron application and Bluetooth for audio
streaming from external devices such as smartphones and tablets. This all sounds very promising and is indeed the world’s first music workstation with real control over audio.
